Default Does anyone know how to prevent yourself from being shut down?

Concerning a monk:

I'm not talking about having a variety of different types of skills to prevent all of your skill bar from being shut down. I'm talking about if there are any skills that would prevent yourself from being shut down or if you were to cast it on the Me/ or /Me first.

Thanks!

Mo/W with Balanced Stance/Dolyak Signet and Spell Breaker. Outside of a Chilblains, you should be fairly *safe* for a little while.

Hex Breaker/hex removal against hexes.

You cant manage energy against a true nrg denial mesmer. They will have you down to zip in seconds.

there is always purge signet if they hex/condition you and you have no energy. Usually though, I like to use energy drain on the mesmer shutting me down after he uses it on me =) and I dont usually have problems other than blackout (uber annoying)

Run from the mesmer who is charging you. He likes blackout.

Running is actually the best strategy against a blackout Mes, imo. I used blackout to shut down monks in Tombs this weekend, and running would allow you to: a) let the spell wear out; b) call for assistance from Ws to take out the Mes. Heck, I ended up drawing 3 or 4 opposng Ws and nukers chasing down one monk.

Mo/E could have snares...

Using Mo/Me, with another Mo who had spellbreaker on the team you could use Arcane Mimicry, Arcane Echo and Echo to maintain spellbreaker on yourself for 45 seconds.

Why would someone do something retarded like that? Takes 2 sec to cast and will be interrupted if you get attacked, which, surprise surprise, is a damn likely thing if you are a monk. Mo/E with grasping earth is what I would use. Cheap and fast casting.

Have an empty weapon slot and switch it to it when being drained. Switch back to normal weapons to cast and have a pair of +15energy -1 regen weapons as reserves.

This sounds good but I wouldn't want to put it my bar not the Dolyak signet anyway. The Dolyak signet is strengh i believe anyway for Monk it would be nice to have something to counter this although playing a Warrior I am not sure how do this yet.

you could always run mantra of concentration, and mantra of resolve (however this one may screw your energy up a bit....) to prevent being interupted, however as for energy draining, i have no idea....
